Eurogate II

conception and planning of an eco-efficient mobilisation of soil for the Eurogate II project

Client:                                     ARE Quartiertwicklungs Eurogate GmbH

Task:                                       Ecological mobilisation of building plot

Processing period:               2017 - ongoing

The Eurogate II site, which belongs to the largest passive house settlement in Europe, is an urban expansion area in the densely built-up 3rd district of Vienna. On an area of 125,000 m2 a quarter with predominantly residential use is under development.

As part of the master planning, we support the technical project development with the conception of an eco-efficient building land mobilisation. For this purpose, we design and coordinate soil and material flow studies and their relevance for building development. Based on the findings of geotechnical and chemical soil investigations, mass flow strategies and optimization of disposal costs can be developed for all construction sites. In our BIM-based models, mass balances, building variants and disposal costs are examined for their eco-efficiency. Another instrument incorporated in this project is phyto-remediation.

The recovery-oriented deconstruction of existing buildings is also included.
