ALTHAN QUARTER

deconstruction planning of the building structure above the Franz-Josefs railway station, 9th district Vienna

Client:                          6B47 Althan Quartier
Task:                            Social Urban Mining with BauKarussell
Processing period:    2017 - ongoing

Following the relocation of the formerly accommodated Bank Austria and its technical centre, the development of the Franz-Josef railway station is an important inner-city project. In the southern part of the existing building complex with its entrance at Julius Tandler Platz, the head building of the construction will be preserved and completely renovated. In the northern part of the area, a new building structure will be designed after partial demolition.

Our task is to accompany the dismantling in great detail. Our approach of social urban mining is to integrate the building into the planning process as a material resource with the greatest possible added value.
